Acesulfame Potassium (commonly known as Acesulfame K or Ace K) is a high-intensity sweetener used to deliver strong sweetness with virtually no calories. It typically appears as a white, odorless crystalline powder and dissolves easily in water, making it suitable for a wide range of dry mixes and liquid formulations. Ace-K is widely used in sugar-free and reduced-sugar product concepts because it provides a strong sweetness impact at very low dosage and supports modern low-calorie positioning. In terms of advantages, Acesulfame K is valued for its high sweetness potency (around 200 times sweeter than sugar), good performance in acidic recipes, and strong stability during heat processing, which helps it remain effective in many manufacturing conditions. To achieve a more sugar-like taste profile, it is also commonly blended with other sweeteners such as sucralose or aspartame to reduce bitterness and improve overall flavor balance.
